Charity Night on Behalf of Havens Hospices – Southend

On Monday 23rd November Maxims Southend launched their Christmas Menu with a flurry. The night was dedicated to the Havens Hospices for both adults and children.

In April 2010 Jimmy Howard (GM) will launch himself onto the streets of the capital and attempt to run the London Marathon to raise funds for this amazing charity. The evening was designed to announce this campaign to Maxims Southend’s patrons and invited guests, which included the Deputy Mayor of Southend on Sea.

Numerous singers who perform at the Casino, created a one off special show together, performing hits from the Blues Brothers, Grease, Dream Girls, Moulin Rouge, Fame and Rent. The performers also produced a CD of two of the performed songs, proceeds of which were donated to the charity.

Louise Gloyne (Head of Mayor Revenue) from Havens Hospices was amazed when told that the evening raised a total of £3,000, which is a great start to Jimmy’s sponsorship fund. The majority of the funds already collected will start working for the Hospices immediately. Jimmy will be pounding the streets for the next four and a half months. Go Jimmy Go!!!!
